Federally Funded Title Programs

Title I Program

The NCLB Title I Program is designed to aid schools in their efforts in school improvement through schoolwide and targeted assistance programs. This funding enables the school system to provide supplementary services to high poverty students PreK-12. There are twenty (20) Title I public schools and three (3) non-public schools.

Computer-assisted instruction, integrated language, manipulatives, and small group instruction are techniques used by instructors to provide supplemental instruction. Early childhood teachers and aides provide readiness activities to participants in order to prepare them for their formal schooling.

Through the Title I Program, Pearson Successmaker labs are provided to students in grades 1-6 and computer resource labs are funded in grades 7-8.

The Iberia Parish School Board, through Title I program funds, supports services which include a media center, counseling services, after school tutoring programs, a family literacy center, parent training workshops, and professional development for paraprofessionals and teachers working in Title I schools.
